Chichester CAN (Sussex Creative Art Network CIC) was founded in 2024 with the goal of creating more opportunities for artists to exhibit their work, run workshops, and foster a sense of community in the city. It was strongly felt that our creative community needed more spaces to connect, collaborate and showcase the incredible talent we have in the area.
Sussex Portrait Artist of the Year Competition
Chichester CAN’s first major event will be the Sussex Portrait Artist of the Year Competition. Nine talented artists will paint three celebrity sitters over the course of four hours, competing for the title of Sussex Portrait Artist of the Year. If you’re a fan of Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year, you’ll love this event! We are thrilled to announce that one of our judges isWendy Barrett, last year’s Sky Arts Portrait Artist winner, alongside Amy Dury and Eden Maseyk.
