Community Researcher Roles at Petworth House

Do you enjoy working in a team and love meeting people of all ages? Then this may be the role for you!

Petworth House are looking for enthusiastic members of the local community to work with them. In this role, you’ll help them understand the different perceptions and knowledge of Petworth House within local communities, identify barriers to visiting, and engage with community members to discover topics, stories, and histories of interest for curating the collection and the programme of events.

As the programme has our local communities at its heart they are looking for people who have a good understanding of the local needs and diversity of communities surrounding Petworth House.

What skills and interests are helpful…

  • Confident communication skills with the ability to talk to a wide range of people
  • Enthusiastic about community engagement, arts and social research
  • Recognise the importance of active listening and active learning
  • Happy to work and collaborate within a team
  • Ability to treat all people with respect and dignity at all times
